date of travel: April 2008

mt. ampacao at sagada, mountain province

second day at sagada was about hiking and caving...lakas ng loob namin to na pagsamahin ito...we didn't know what we're going into considering that it would be our first time to go caving...hehe...
we woke up early kasi ang usapan namin with our tourist guide is 8am (ok, not that early...hehe)...we ate breakfast at masferes because i've read some great reviews about it and the food is great indeed we were not disappointed...after eating, we bought some food for take out, kasi usapan namin ng tour guide, baon na lang kami ng food para dire-diretso ang lakad. we headed back to our lodge to wait for our tour guide, and to our dismay we waited for about one hour and a half! i don't know kung di ba kami nagkaintindihan or what, nainip na kami and winston (tita mary's son) was kind enough to go to the tourist information center to get another guide for us and that's when our tour guide finally came...hayyy pag-antayin ba kami?! hehe...me halong bitterness pa rin...

off we went to our first stop, mt. ampacao that is...going there, we had a sidetrip at the sagada pottery house, allen like it there 'coz he's into sculpting right now (just one of his many hobbies)...then we continue our ascend to the highest point of sagada....the view up at mt. ampacao was stunning and sulit na rin ang pagod sa kakalakad...

next stop, sumaguing cave...nag-stop over kami somewhere to eat our baon and then lakad na ulit...before going to sumaguing cave, we had a sidetrip to the lumiang burial cave...going down to the lumiang burial cave was easy...pababa kasi, pero pag-akyat pabalik grabe kakapagod! or maybe because we were already tired from our mt.ampacao trek...naku, meron pa kaming caving! so, slowly naglakad na kami papuntang sumaguing cave...

we started slowly but surely, it was dark in the sumaguing cave at lampara lang ang tanging ilaw...but no worries, 'coz marami namang nag-caving so whatever happens, meron namang sasaklolo agad...ang lamig sa cave! the water is soooo cold and umuusok yung mga tao...it was slippery inside so ingat na ingat talaga kami...the view inside was really really good! again, sulit na naman ang pagod at sakit ng katawan, pati na rin ang paghawak sa mga ebs ng paniki! ewwe! sorry guys, there's really no choice but to hold those bat dung! hehe...

after sumaguing cave, sooooobrang pagod na kami to the max...so uwian na! pero nag-sidetrip pa rin muna kami to see the hanging coffins...tinanaw lang namin ito, ok na rin dahil sobrang pagod na kami...whew!!!!

i crave travel!
